The Blue Mesa Reservoir is the largest body of water in Colorado and offers excellent fishing; kokanee salmon, rainbow trout, Mackinaw (lake) trout, and German (brown) trout can all be caught in the reservoir. The Blue Mesa Reservoir also provides ample opportunities for bird watching, hiking and nature trails among scenic vistas and swimming at several less rocky locations. Spend some time looking for wildlife; you might spot marmots, mountain cottontails, or even bighorn sheep. You won't have to go very far to experience the natural and immeasurable beauty of Colorado.
