Description: Allagash Gateway Campsites are located on beautiful Ripogenus Lake. We offer housekeeping cabins and 30 primitive campsites, RV sites, hot showers, boat launch, marina, gasoline as well as canoe rentals and transportation services to the upper West Branch of the Penobscot River. Fish for land-locked salmon, trout and togue.

Directions: The Allagash Gateway Campsite may be reached by two routes: (1) via the Maine Turnpike and Interstate 95 to Newport, taking Rt. 7 to Dexter and Guilford, Rt. 15 to Greenville, then follow signs to Lily Bay, Kokadjo and Ripogenus Dam. The distance from Greenville is about 44 miles, mostly dirt road; allow plenty of time. (2) The other route is a bit longer but tarred to within 1 mile of our campsite - via the Maine Turnpike and Interstate 95 to Medway, taking Rtes. 11 and 157 to Millinocket and following signs to Baxter State Park and Ripogenus Dam. We are 33 miles beyond Millinocket in T3-R12.
You will be meeting Great Northern trucks, carrying tree length logs; so please be prepared to stop at anytime.
