Directions: From Hwy 74 by-pass take the Hwy 9 exit (Mill Spring/Lake Lure) approximately 10 miles to the Lake Lure city limits then take the first Left onto Girls Scout Camp Road. Travel approximately 1 mile to The Hitching Post on Right. OR, from I26 take the Tryon/Columbus exit Hwy 108 toward Rutherfordton. Approximately 3 miles outside of Columbus take Hwy 9 to the left. Continue on Hwy 9 approximately 7 miles to the Lake Lure city limits and take the first Left onto Girls Scout Camp Road. Travel approximately 1 mile to The Hitching Post on the Right. Open: Year Round. A tranquil, peaceful resort nestled in beautiful valley, just minutes from Lake Lure and Chimney Rock. Abundance of wildlife and beautiful scenery. This 44-acre campground offers year-round full service and tent camping with such amenities as: a fishing pond, hiking trails, playground, game room, laundry, hot showers, handicap facilities, pavilion, bunkhouses, primitive sites and camp store with ice and firewood.
