Description: OXBOW Campground welcomes you to its Web Site. Oxbow, providing great camping since 1972, was designed, built and is operated by a camping family that understands and provides, the camping experience you deserve. Oxbow offers a traditional mix of recreational opportunities for both adults and children. Facilities include a swimming pond with a sandy bottom, great beach, a pavilion overlooking the beach and play area. There is a recreation room with Pinball, video games, electronic basketball and foos ball. Downstairs at the Welcome Hall is where you will find a lot of Oxbow's Food Events. Everything from a traditional breakfast to Chicken BBQ, Pot Luck Mixers and lobster specials as well. The big news for 2003 is the upgrade of twenty-one sites just across the line in Hillsboro. Eight of them have direct access, frontage, on the boating pond. With one exception these sites are well shaded. All of them offer 50 amp electric hookups, deep shutoff water as well as the usual sewer, cable TV and phone hookups. Any of these sites will comfortably accommodate the largest unit one can legally drive or tow. This is why we refer to them as our "super sites." Four of them, including two on the waterfront, are reserved for short to medium term use. We invite you to come to see them, but beware; you will not want to go home without signing up for one!Hot Air Balloon During the spring/summer/fall season, you will find a wide variety of sponsored events and activities. There's bingo, ice cream socials, campfire socials, holiday fireworks display, horseback rides, fishing derby, pumpkin carving, campground yard sales, nature walks and food events of all kinds, some accompanied by live entertainment. Our bigger events are lobsterfest, balloonfest, & chicken barbecue. Please see the Activities section for more information.
