Description: The New River Campground, Inc. purchased November 1998 by the West Virginia Paralyzed Veterans of America, Inc. (WV-PVA, which was started in 1990. Since its founding PVA (national founded in 1947 and chartered by Congress) has been in the forefront in organizing and ensuring quality care, rehabilitation, and assistance to veterans with a spinal cord dysfunction. In addition, PVA assists all handicapped individuals through a broad range of programs designed to allow them fuller access to society. In the United States alone, more than a quarter of a million people have spinal cord injuries
Directions: New River Campground, situated on the New River, located on Route 60 East just above Gauley River at Gauley Bridge is just minutes from Kanawha Falls, Beckley Exhibition Mine, Contentment Museum Complex, Hawks Nest State Park, Whitewater rafting and the New River Gorge Bridge (the longest arch bridge in the world and the second highest in the U.S.) which holds Bridge Day on the 3rd Saturday in October.
Reservation Information: All sites are available for reservations and require a two-week advance notice, a two-day minimum stay, and a 50% deposit is required within one week after making reservaton made payble to New River Campground.
