Description: Lake Stephens is a 2300 acre County park with a 300 acre pristine mountain lake surrounded by 2000 acres of Hardwood Forest located in the heart of the Southern West Virginia Coal Country.� The park is open April 15 to October 15 offering recreational opportunities such as hiking, camping, fishing, boating and access to local attractions and events.�Nine miles west of Beckley, in Raleigh County West Virginia, and twenty-five minutes from the New River Gorge National Park, makes the park a great place to camp in an RV or tent and enjoy the culture and natural resources of the area.
Reservation Information: Reservations may be made up to two days in advance and must include the full rental fee and a $5.00 handling fee.
A minimum of two nights is required when making a reservation.
In case of cancellations, deposits will be refunded (except a $5.00 handling fee plus first night's rental) if notified 7 or more days in advance. There are no refunds due to weather.
Personal checks (with the exception of out of state checks) and major credit cards are accepted. Charges occur at time of reservation.
RV and Tent campsites are rented on a first come first serve basis or by reservation. Sites can be rented more than two days in advance.
Campground Rules: Tent campground stays are limited to fourteen consecutive days. The RV Camp has nightly, weekly, monthly and seasonal rental periods.
Check-out time is 12:00 noon. Check-in time is 2:00 PM.
Each tent site has a occupancy of 8 people, two tents, and two motor vehicles. If your party exceeds 8 people another site must be rented. One responsible person who has passed their 18th birthday must be at each site. There are no tents allowed in the RV campground.
RV and Tent Campers may park boat trailers at designated trailer parking areas for the length of their stay. There is no long term boat or trailer parking any where on park grounds. Any boat or trailer parked for more than 72 hours is subject to towing, impoundment and storage fees.
Campers must register before occupying a campsite.
Camping in any manner is prohibited except in designated camp areas.
Alcoholic beverages are prohibited. Violators can be evicted from the park immediately without refund and lose park privileges for up to one year.
No explosive materials or other dangerous substances are permitted.
Firearms, bows and arrows and illegal fireworks are prohibited.
Posted speed limits and campground regulations must be obeyed.
Quiet hours must be observed between 10:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. However, please always be considerate of everyone around you at all times.
bullet Only cats and dogs are permitted in camping areas, but must be restrained on a leash no more than 10 feet in length. Pet owners must clean up after their pets.
Fires are limited to fireplaces or park fire rings. DO NOT LEAVE FIRES UNATTENDED.
