Description: Where once stood the old Jackman Lumber Company Mill, one of the largest in the state of Maine, now stands Moose River Campground at the dam and old mill site on Heald Stream. 50 Camp and Trailer sites now offer tranquility and the beauty of tall timbers, further enhanced by a rambling stream bordering the Campground. Camping at Moose River Campground is great fun any time. Moose River Campground is a great place to enjoy the natural beauty of Maine, Moose River Campground is a good place to enjoy the outdoors. This place has the reputation of being a good campground. Camping brings many people to Moose River Campground, Moose River Campground is a good campground for any type of camper. In Maine you never run out of outdoors fun. If you're here you might as well check out Slidedown Valley. Why not check out Heald Stream Dam while you're here. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Sally Mountain Trail. A lake nearby is Coburn Pond. Not all the water around here is flat, Heald Stream is a stream you can visit during your stay. Going up to the top of Sandy Stream Mountain is great fun any day. Places like The Basin are great to visit. The beauty of mother nature reveals herself at The Falls. Don't leave Moose River Campground without first paying a visit to Heald Stream Falls. Up on the top of Sally Mountain you'll get a great view. Don't leave Moose River Campground without first checking out Trickey Bluffs. Kimball Brook is one of the streams around here that might be worth visiting. Number Two Mountain is a great place to go up on if you want more of a bird's eye perspective on everything here around Moose River Campground. Take a look at nearby Number Five Bog. Moose River Campground is not the only place around here, Daymond Pond is a nearby lake.

From the South

Take Exit 133 off I-95 getting on Route 201 north, continue on 201 to Jackman/Moose River Region,
go through the town of Jackman, cross over the Moose River, take next right (at Border Trust Bank)
we are 1.3 miles down on the right.

From the North

Exit 157, off I-95. Take Route 2 West to Skowhegan, take Route 201 to Jackman/Moose River Region,
go through the town of Jackman, cross over the Moose River, take next right (at Border Trust Bank) we are 1.3 miles down on the right.
