Comments:
This Campground is located near the end of the road on the north shore, the big dome rock from the film Bali High rises above it, so close you can't see the top. This site is busier than many of the others, as a lot of folks driveing to the end of the road, stop here to explore the caves across the road from the campground, and to walk out to the water to see the view, passing thur the camping area. This campground has a huge beach, and has lifeguards, and is popular for surfers, who go out a long way to get the best waves, beyond the protecting reefs. This campground is used as a staging camp, for those who hike the Kalalau Trail, to the very remote campsites there. We found this campground is overcast a lot, as the clouds back up here behind the mountains, and showers are usually daily, though not lasting long. There is a food van that parks here most of the day, with sandwiches, drinks and snacks. The restrooms were old, needing replaceing, the worse we saw on the Island, and has outside cold showers, with a privacy fence. Picnic tables are available, camping is on a lawned area. We'd probably skip this campground, Anini was much nicer, quieter.
