Short Summary
Was a very nice getaway for the weekend.
Comments:
We looked at 4 other campgrounds in the Hocking Hills area before coming upon Scenic View it wqas by far the nicest, cleanest and most beautiful of them all.The showers are the cleanest I have ever seen at a campground and there is so much for a family to do,they have a nice big game room with alot of new games and Flat big screen TV to watch. Also a playground for the kids basketball. They also have activities planned like crafts and movie night's,there is also a gem mine that the kids liked alot.My 2 and 4 yr old had a blast we already know that from now on we will be staying at this campground only. The weekend we were there hardly anyone elso was there it wasn't crowded at all we went after the holiday weekend which was so worth it.The only thing I didn't like was that the firwood was not cheap exspect to spend at least 19 to 20.00 a day in firewood if you like to make meals at camp and sit around the fire at night. You cannot bring your own firwood. The owner delivers your firwood to you which was really nice, and the staff is very friendly. If you get a site away from the main check in area you will have to use a porta pot but they are very clean and if you dont mind driving a little the main bathrooms are not that far.We like to fish and about 5 minutes away there is a secluded pond that you have to hike to that is a beautiful half mile hike to a pond where we fished. The small checkin store has grocery items that are reasonable if you want something fast.Restauraunts and walmart are only 9 min away which is nice if you run out of something or forget stuff. We camped more towards the middle on the end and we saw alot a mother deer with her 2 fawns about 20 feet from our camp and watched them play it was nice the kids loved it,we also saw a Bald Eagle which was my first to see in the wild.I am so glad we stumbled upon this campground we had a wonderfull time and will definatly be back next year with our family.I wanted to write this review because I know how frustrating it can be to try to find a nice place to stay and can't find any review's on it.Hope this helps you all,Thank's for a lovely weekend Breann:)
