Owner's response to batman
Comments:
Hi, we are the new owners of Countryside Family Campground. We just wanted to respond to the comments made by batman, posted 11.24.08. We purchased the campground in late October 07. We did mail out new seasonal contracts with a change in the seasonal rate and the rules. We did cause an upset with our seasonal campers (we have about 40) but let me explain that the previous owner sent out his own contract making promises that he could not keep. As to batman's comments. We are assuming batman is one of the three seasonal campers that left last year, and as we only spoke to those that left for a very short time on the phone, I'm not sure they can make an accurate judgement of our personalities. We are fair and we think friendly. We love people and socializing and have camped with our four children for all of our married life (16years). We felt we needed to be firm to start with so everyone followed the same rules. (We understood from the previous owner that he made different deals with many individual seasonals with a 'you do this for me and I'll do that for you' ideal and we chose not to do so, especially for insurance purposes) As to the bathroom issues, we frankly didn't realize there was an issue. But to not take the easy was out, I have worked in the commercial construction field for over 20 years and know that changes need to be made and are looking forward to making them. Some of the changes we made in the last year; new and upgraded electric for the usage in the park, some new sewer sites (there were none when we purchased the park), tripled the amount of tent sites and upgraded those sites with water and electric, added more overnight sites, remodeled our cottage and added new rental RV's, and incorporated a weekly activity schedule, which can be found on or web page, that all of our seasonals requested. We think it was a great year, and we have gotten many positive comments from our overnight campers and our seasonal campers. We would love for you to come and join us and please let us know if something is not to your liking. We certainly are willing to work with any of our campers. Also, just in closing, we just this week had a previous seasonal camper call and asked if they could come back to camp here at Countryside, they heard great things from their friends. Tim & Debby
