| Short Summary |
The most worn-out KOA |
Comments: This KOA is in a wonderfully rural location on the Chesapeake Bay. However, it sadly is the most tired looking KOA we have ever stayed at. It has definately seen better days and appears to be a shell of the fun that was once had there. The pool deck and tiles are crumbling. The minature golf course is sunbleached and dated. The playground does have a freshly dumped pile of sand surrounded by mostly worn playground equipment. Landscaping is either nonexistent or overgrown----certainly not what you would expect at a KOA! The owner and her son seem to be overwhelmed with managing the place. The game room looked like it had never been swept and there were cobwebs in the corners--Yuk! The son(40ish) is very unfriendly(almost creepy) and just acts like he is misreable being there and has the personality of a dishrag. You get the real impression from them that they are barely making it and every nickel counts---kinda depressing to be there given the overall condition of the place. There are no real organized activities for the kids like there are at the other KOAs. The bugs in July were almost unbearable. We did enjoy walking on the piers and watching the kids catch crabs. I am just really surprised that KOA lends its name to this place.
