| Short Summary |
UNHAPPY W/ STAFF |
Comments: This visit to Rolling Hills Campground was our third and last visit. Our first visit was a little unfriendly, second no problem but this last one takes the cake.
We arrived Friday, 6/15 and were charged an extra fee of $4.00 per night to be on the same campsite level as the bathrooms and pool. Otherwise you have to walk 300-400 yards to get to the bathrooms from and electric and water hookup site. The tent sites are even closer.
If we were to bring our boat to camp that would be $5 per night also, this I can understand but still, you can bring your boat to Taylorsville Lake Campground for free.
The picnic table that the man pulled over to our campsite had a broken bench with a total of 6 nails sticking out of the bottom of the bench. 20 feet away was a perfectly good table, not in use by our fellow neighbor campers. I asked the man to just help us move that one over, instead he insisted on taking out the whole piece of the bench, which still left 3 nails in the other board for us to sit on. I have a small child and dog who likes to lay under the table. We were not going to get that bench, which sat all weekend not in use.
On Saturday, We went boating and decided to go back to camp and eat around 4:00 and at that time my sister-in-law, niece and nephew were going to eat and return to the lake with us. They were going to charge me $5 per person just to come have dinner with us. When I told the lady at the registration office that she was dollaring us to death, she told me to go to KOA campground for $69 dollars or more and walked off mad at me. When I told her I did not appreciate the way she talked to me, she told me to talk to her husband and walked away from me again. She made me feel like it was our priveledge to be able to stay at her facility.
The pictures on the website are deceiving....The putt-putt golf boards are rotted, the greens have leaves all over them like they have not been swept off from last fall, and the pool on the bottom is rough. My son's feet are raw on the bottom from the pool.
I can overlook some of these things, but after the way we were treated by the owners, we will never be back. The people next to us had a problem with the lady as well and they will not be returning either.
I understand why their campround was less than half full.
