| Short Summary |
Pricing isn't Bike Friendly |
Comments: We started camping at Veterans Memorial campground in 2000, and went every year. Sadly, the previous experience will be our last. The pricing structure has changed, and it is now cheaper for us to stay in hotels. We bike with 4 guys, all having individual 1-man tents (biking guys don't share tents). They charge per-tent, and do not waver from this. If we all used 1 tent, the price would be $16. Because we have tiny (very tiny) individual tents, it costs us $64 per night to camp. Our first year, it was $6 per night, and now it is $64. Sad. It has a great location, and is a beautiful area, but if you are biking or hiking with adults, save the money and get a hotel. This place is now designed to cater to the big RV crowd, and us tent campers need to look elsewhere.
