We were not so Happy! |
Comments: Happy Hills Campground review:
We were not so happy!
We were really looking forward to a new place to camp this year and were highly disappointed with where we ended up staying....first off, don't listen to there web-page it's false advertisement. They offer a pool off site of the camp ground, in the backyard of their personal residence, you basically have to get in your car and drive to park your car across the street of the owners house and go through there front yard to a small in ground pool it was really weird an totally disappointing for our teenage kids that like to hang out by the pool with us and talk…don’t plan on doing that here! DON’T let your kids go into the lake or pond or as we call it the sewage pit, we went down there to do some fishing and the septic from the bathrooms was running into the pond (lake). Do plan on going to bed before midnight, if not the owners will hound you all night long and threaten you on calling the sheriff, 11:00 curfew is about it…no loud talking, voices carry…and the owners handled this situation very unprofessionally. Our tent sites were also disappointing, they looked very nice on the web-page but they will have you fooled. Also note that if you are planning on hiking hocking hills area, this is too far out. The campgrounds inside the state park would be a better choice.
The only nice thing I have to say about happy hills are the bathrooms. They are clean! Good luck.
