| Short Summary |

Comments: I have read the other reviews and I am beginning to think that they did not stay at the same campground as I did. I stayed there July of 2007 and I had a wonderful time. I was met by Ron Ray (apparently Barbara has a bakery in Rangeley and is no longer there). He had a smile and a very friendly attitude. We got our site without a problem and setteld in rather nicely. Yes it was a tad bit cramped but the people were very friendly and the area was beautiful. The ground was in places rough but it is a camp site for goodness sake not the Hilton. Ron had offered to put a wood type thing down for us to get us up off the ground. Apparently he had made it for tenters. We declined and said that we would be just fine. I did have a dog and he charged me the 3 dollars (I think it was that much). I have been to other places and the price for a dog has been as much as 10 bucks. They had a very nice place that I could take him too and let him swim around. They had some great food in the store. Muffins, doughnuts and breakfest sandwiches in the morning. Ron's worker in the store even cooked us a pizza and offerd to deliver it to us. We rented canoes and kayaks and Ron took us out on a sun sut cruise on his party boat. Yes it was 25 dollars a person but it was worth it. Ron seemd to be very knowledge about the area and we enjoyed it very much. I for one would much rather give my money to a local business in the area that I am visiting than to pay less and give it to a big corporation or a state owned place.
My fiance and I had nothing but a wonderful time at Cupsuptic campground and we will definatley be going back there.
I really wonder about the other reviews that are on this site. Maybe they are the type of people who are not happy with anything at all.
We did go on the island that was talked about and it is another form of wilderness camping for goodness sakes. Again it is not the Hilton, of course the out house is going to stink and the trails are going to be grown up a little bit. Other than that the island was really enjoyable and peaceful.
