Short Summary
the Great Plains
Comments:
We stayed here 3 weeks. The park gives the feeling of being alone on the wind swept Great Plains. The skies are huge and there are dunes left by an ancient river to explore. The Blackwater Draw Archeology Site is near by where Clovis Man was identified. Cell phone coverage is good. Staff is responsive. Can get mail delivered to the park office. Towns are close by but out of sight. Detractors: flies and occasional smell from local dairies, the bathrooms are modern but the STINK is AWFUL, wasps in the fall, the pond is still empty and nothing is being done while we were there.
