I don't know who wrote the review for this campground but they are dead wrong!!!! I tried to get to my lot and they were following me and harrassing me to buy some kind of tickets..I was not interested...It was a very hot day and all I want to do was go into the pool.When I got to the pool it wasn't open....we were in the hottest month (JULY) and the pool was empty!!! When I asked about the pool I was told it was none of my business and don't use the hose because we are on well water and can't waste it . How RUDE!!! There was no way the water would have been wasted..they advertise 103 sites..from what I remember there were maybe 90 sites EMPTY!! This gets even better...Later on that night the wife and I got the kids to bed and we wanted to sit out by the fire...When I lit the fire pit this crazy guy comes racing down the road with his golf cart screaming and yelling with foam coming from his mouth..saying NO FIRES....your not allowed to have fires after 9pm. What the hell..I bought the wood from him!!! If he didn't want fires he shouldn't be selling wood.
I wanted out of there so bad that we decide to leave the next morning..I usually get up early....so i was starting to pack up it could have been around 6.30 am. and here he comes again!!! What the hell do you think your doing making all this noise at 6 in the morning ..we have other camper who like to sleep in when they are here...By now I was fuming...I looked at him and said ..look here, take a real good look around..you don't have any campers...your park is EMPTY...and now i know why...I told him to get out of my way or i will call the troopers...be backed off really fast..which leads me to believe that I wasn't the first one to threaten him with troopers.
For all of you decent people looking to camp in the UpState area of NY..Stay away from Shady Oaks Rv Park. These people are out of their minds...and they have mental issues not to mention he likes to drink..can smell it all over him..and that was in the morning....JUST STAY AWAY!!!!
