Short Summary
Wonderful!
Comments:
Very high elevation (for the east coast), so we experienced perfect weather when we went in AUGUST. We chose to stay on the back loop because the sites are very secluded (trees on all sides) and huge, but there are different kinds of sites throughout the campground to meet anyone's needs. There are also sites right on the river (the river runs through the middle of the campground).
Our host was extremely friendly and very helpful. Walking and hicking trails are everywhere also, one trail runs into the App. Trail. The campground is in the middle of nowhere (so it feels), yet only minutes down the mountain is the town of Franklin. We met many "regulars," who return every year. We, too, will be returning soon. We LOVED this place!
