Not that friendly! |
Comments: As their website indicates Two Rivers Campground is nestled in a corner of MN where the Mississippi and the Platte rivers come together. It is wooded and the campsites have the standard amenities - picnic tables and fire pits. Bathrooms and shower house are clean. Many sites have a nice views of one or the other rivers. The weekend we stayed it rained and because it is on a flood plain the sites became incredibly muddy right away in fact there were puddles so deep in spots that kids where using them as wading pools. Adding pads or gravel to the mudiest areas wold be a great improvement.
A boat launch is available and we were informed that we could bring our boat. However once we arrived we were told that it would not be allowed to be stored at our campsite and we were forced to leave it outside of the campground gates in a public parking lot. The facility was hosting a large party in its pavillion building with many non campers using the parking lot yet we were not allowed to make additional provisions to safeguard our boat.
The campgorund owners have made many physical improvements to the facility. They should now set their sites on raising the level of customer service. When attempting to reserve the sites it took multiple phone calls and e-mails to receive an intital response. Then multiple attempts to confirm the reservation. During our stay the owner was less then friendly. While this may have been the effects of a long holiday weekend there were several instances of rude and off putting behavior. Paying customers need to be treated with respect in all circumstances. This is something Two Rivers needs to learn.
