My friends and I have been camping at Oakland Valley for 3 years and are sad to find that this year we were treated extremely unfairly. We rented 2 sites and were charged a $20 fee for moving a table 10 feet from one site to the other. Really...$20 FOR MOVING A TABLE!! Come on, how nit picky can they be! We were additionally charged $20 for leaving our campfire burning and for moving the campfire. We built our fire in a hole that already existed. We've been camping for 7 years and have never left a fire burning and never would. Our fire was out when we left and it was raining hard that day too, but unfortunately it's our word against theirs. They seem to be coming up with every possible excuse to squeeze more money out of us. Lastly, we had originally rented 3 sites and a week before called to cancel one of them and they raised the price of the other 2 sites we would be staying on. HOW CAN YOU RAISE A PRICE AFTER SOMEONE HAS ALREADY BOOKED THEM? I would highly recommend not camping at Oakland Valley...you never know what they might try to charge YOU with after you leave.
