Short Summary
not as good as it used to be
Comments:
We camped here last summer, and were a bit disappointed this year. It used to be owned by a family but was bought out by a corporation this year, and some of the family-friendly touches are no longer there. For example, the bathrooms were cleaned several times daily last year and this year they were often dirty. Not horribly dirty (I've seen much worse at state campgrounds), but certainly not as clean as they should be. And the women's room completely ran out of toilet paper twice, which is unacceptable for a private campground that charges over $50/night for a family of 4.

They also do not enforce quiet hours during the week - we were told they only patrol on Fridays and Saturdays. They said if the problem continued they would ask the campers to leave, but when I was up until 3am two nights in a row that was little consolation.

Those were my only 2 big complaints though. I still like the campground and may return next year, but I may look around for another. While many campsites are right next to each other, there are several that offer some privacy and are right on the river. Every site has water and electric, which is great for our portable electric cooler. We also ended up buying a fan for the inside of our tent (great for hot nights and drowning out noisy neighbors!) They have a playground, a nice heated pool, a decent rec room (great place to watch a movie when it rains), and free crafts for the kids. They also have tube rentals which many people took advantage of and it looked like fun, but my kids are still too little to enjoy that. My absolute favorite feature is that they have really hot water, which is great for washing dishes and of course for showers too. I'm done with heating water on our tiny camp stove to wash dishes in lukewarm water!

One other thing to note - the campground is located near Route 87 so you can hear the traffic. Not bad, but not ideal if you completely want to get away from it all.
