Comments:
Just returned from a camping trip to Scenic Ridge. We have a travel trailer and it was nearly impossible to get it to the site. You have to drive up and down narrow pot filled roads. To add more problems there are many speed bumps, which do not make much sense as the pot holes and hills slow you down to a crawl.
The actual camping sites (for travel trailers) were large and easy to back into upon arrival. But the site is so far from anything (beach and lake are over a mile away) to enjoy this place. There are no activities for kids except for a half finished play house and a tether ball. IT IS NOT A KID FRIENDLY CAMPSITE. Kids would die of boredom here.
Also, the place is run like the gestapo. Wrist bands are checked and re-checked constantly. (They actually had people with binoculars watching you when you came and went). You must pay a two day minimum ($30) for each camper staying on site even if you are staying just one night. Outrageous!
We have stayed at many campgrounds over the years and this by far has the least to offer of any we have stayed at and was by far the most expensive per camper.
As far as a dump station, you have to back into it around the bathhouse on your way out. It was just as inconvenient as the entire layout/set up of this place. I would highly advise finding somewhere else to camp if you can. It's just too dumpy of a place. They seem to care more about rules and gaining your money than making sure you have an enjoyable experience. They also need to invest some capital in the campground to fix roads, enlarge and relocate bathhouse and bathrooms. Offering shuttles to the beach or to concert venues would also be helpful. There are just too many issues here to list them all.
