It's amazing that out of 1000's of campers and 100% full campground June through Labor day, only the upset ones will make a review.
Since the problematic reviewers in 2008 we changed our policy so that every new camper is told at time of reservation that there is a bar at this campground, there is no quiet time because bar time in WI is 2:30am so enforcing a quiet time with a bar is impossible. If you chose to camp here after being warned of a bar atmosphere, that is your gamble.
To the person that said we dropped all activities in May of 2010, that is a flat out lie, check our website.
We did have a bad weekend Jul 30-31 with the first time ever we had to call in the police, a local person(from outside the campground) assaulted one of our seasonal campers and got hit in the face for doing so, this is the first time in 8 years the cops have had to intervene on our property. The same weekend we did have a couple who displayed public pornography, they are not welcome back, and we cannot screen everyone before they get here.
It's funny that nobody writes a review when we fix their campers for them, fix their tires, jump start their vehicles, lend them stuff from the camp kitchen, borrow them tools, deliver wood or food to their campsite at midnight, allow the kids to swim 18 hours a day (under adult supervision) shuttle them to nearby attractions for free, put up with kids ringing our doorbell at 7am and calling in to the house for us to open the pool and turn on the jumping pillow the minute the sun comes up, yes..the list does go on as one reviewer stated.
I said it before and I'll say it again, if you want state park atmosphere go there, if you dont like to see a bar and people drinking, pay double and go to a campground that has double rates because there is no bar to help support it.
We chose to cater to the people who dont want to be told to go to bed, and will not get on the road and drive after drinking, we strive to enforce respect and 95% of the time it works, but it's not a perfect world anywhere you go, please dont take a chance then slam us later on the internet. |
